MEET SUSIE

Susie Marsh, LBSW, former owner of Susie’s Organization Solutions, holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and is licensed in the State of Michigan. She has 30+ years experience working in the Mental Health field in West Michigan and has been a Professional Organizer and Coach for over 11 years. Susie has always enjoyed working in the helping profession and felt it was a natural transition to continue that work by assisting others with their organizing needs and helping them finding resources in their community.

Susie serves as the Vice President for NAPO Michigan and is a member of the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD). She has been featured on the popular television show Hoarders on A&E. Susie continues her education in the organizing field through national conferences, teleconferences, and social media. She also attends trainings that fulfill the social work continuing education requirements to maintain her license.

Compassion, humor and most importantly, understanding are essential components of Susie’s organizing work. She sees her role as serving as a catalyst for clients to move forward while being mindful that the organizing process can be a very emotional and overwhelming process. Building a trusting relationship with her clients helps them feel empowered and respected through the process.

Kate Wert, LLMSW, former owner of Clean Slate by Kate, LLC has been a Professional Organizer and Coach for the past 3 years and carries a Limited License of Master’s Level Social Work. Kate has nearly 10 years of experience as a Social Worker in the fields of foster care, children’s mental health and hospice. She and Susie met at a conference and stayed in contact. Kate trained and mentored under Susie for nearly a year before launching her own business.

She is the Director of Marketing for NAPO Michigan and actively involved with the Grand Rapids Area Hoarding Task Force. Kate has been a featured speaker at the West MI Home & Garden Show and highlights her expertise monthly as an author with Grand Rapids Magazine. She continues to speak across the state of Michigan to educate the community on chronic disorganization, hoarding, and the emotional/mental connection we all have to “stuff.”

Kate emphasizes creating a judgment-free zone and using a person-centered approach in her practice. She challenges her clients to think differently about their attachment to stuff to live a better quality of life and meet their personal goals. Securing safety, health and comfort in spaces are of utmost importance. Kate knows that we all have different visions for success and she will work hard to help you get to where you want to be.
